“Plastic-Free Schools” Campaign at Stars College – Abbassieh
Within the framework of the advocacy campaign “Plastic-Free Schools,” part of the project Lebanese Civil Society Fights for a Plastic-Free Sea, the Green Southerners Organisation visited Stars College – Abbassieh on Monday, December 13.
The visit included laying the groundwork for launching the school’s Environmental Club, which will join environmental clubs in other schools, as well as an awareness presentation on the dangers of plastic and the importance of replacing it with environmentally friendly alternatives.
An exchange of views took place, during which members of the Environmental Club emphasized that the solution lies in citizens taking responsibility toward their surrounding environment.
The seminar concluded with the distribution of metal water bottles as an encouragement to reduce sources of plastic use.
We extend our sincere thanks to the school administration, represented by its director Mr. Tarek Ibrahim, who welcomed this environmental cooperation and contributed to the success of the activity.
