“Baqbouq Without Plastic” Project
The Green Southerners Association launched the “Baqbouq Without Plastic” project under the EU-funded SWIM-H2020 SM Programme, in partnership with UNDP, the Lebanese Ministry of Environment, the Lebanese Environmental Movement, and the Lebanese Environment Forum. The project aimed to reduce plastic pollution along the Baqbouk coast through regular clean-up operations, marine litter monitoring, community awareness activities, and the training of local teams on coastal waste management. It contributed to lowering plastic waste in the area and strengthening community engagement in protecting the southern coastline.
